Restoration of Revoked Penalty Points

As a motor vehicle driver, you have 39 penalty points, regardless of the driving categories you hold. You are entitled to restore up to one-third of your penalty points (if fewer than 13 points have been deducted, you can restore the number of points that were deducted. If more than 13 points have been deducted, you can restore 13 points).

How does it work?

You must complete a mandatory additional training course.

The penalty point restoration course consists of road safety lectures held every Saturday of the month, lasting six academic hours from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Requirements

The requirements for restoring penalty points are as follows:

you must have at least one penalty point remaining; you cannot have zero points or a negative balance;
at least 12 months (not one calendar year) must have passed since the date of your last penalty point restoration;
your ID card and driving licence must have been issued in the same locality (if they were not, the points can be restored after your driving licence has been replaced);
if you have a traffic violation report, it must be within 30 days of its issuance; if more than 30 days have passed, it must be revalidated by the Traffic Police;
if you have outstanding obligations (unpaid penalty notices or fines), your points will be restored after you have paid the outstanding amounts and notified the Traffic Police.

Price

The penalty point restoration course costs 116 EUR.

The course for restoring penalty points deducted by the Traffic Police is held at the Training Centers Bulgaria offices.
