Category "C+E" Driving Courses

A person holding a Category CE driving licence is entitled to operate a combination of vehicles consisting of a Category C motor vehicle and a trailer with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 750 kg.

The training is structured on a modular basis and includes both theoretical and practical training.

The training period is 12 days (when practical lessons are taken regularly), but no less than 11 days.

Theoretical Training

The theoretical training includes:

– Trailers and Coupling Systems

During the 4 theoretical training lessons, you will learn:

1. Main types of towing motor vehicles (tractors), their names and intended uses.

2. Main types of trailers, their names and intended uses.

3. Coupling systems, their names and intended uses.

4. Carrying out mandatory daily inspections and basic maintenance operations to keep the vehicle combination in good technical condition.

5. Basic safety rules.

The theoretical training is considered completed when the candidate has attended at least 70% of the training lessons scheduled for each module.

Practical Training

During the 16 practical training lessons, you will learn:

Preparing the Category C vehicle and trailer for safe operation.

Using the vehicle controls and manoeuvring a Category C vehicle with a trailer.

Safely driving a Category C vehicle with a trailer under various road conditions.

After completing the mandatory training, candidates take exams before the Regional Automobile Administration Office (former DAI) for each of the two modules.

Diploma or certificate confirming completion of higher, secondary, or basic education (8th grade) before 26 September 2017, or a certificate of completion of the first stage of secondary education (10th grade). This document will be required by the Traffic Police Department when adding the category to your Driving Licence.
